They did not have much computer expertise, and did not have any experience with web sites and how they work. They asked TREX to get their products online. TREX provides solutionThere are many companies that have the ability to create an e-commerce web site, and then continue to charge you whenever you need to update your product's information. TREX provided a solution that allowed even the novice computer user to manage their own web site. TREX set up an e-commerce site with a password protected administration area. By using this area, the sellers were able to enter information about their products using simple forms. This information then was displayed on the web site for browsers to purchase the products. The administration area also contained scripts to assist in gathering accounting and other information. When an order was placed, e-mail was automatically to the person in the group who makes the product, allowing for quick shipment of that product and eliminating any "middle man" in the group from having to maintain the entire site and inventory.
